"Technology for Tuners" Newsletter
This is Innovate Motorsports' "Technology for Tuners" Newsletter,
Issue #10. These updates are intended to keep you informed
of tuning tips, firmware updates, application notes, new
product releases, company news, and other useful information.
In this issue:
1) SDK is released!
The Innovate MTS (Modular Tuning System) SDK (Software Developer's Kit) is released. This kit makes it easy for Window's programmers to input data from Innovate products directly into your application. The SDK "hides" the complexity of the MTS serial protocol, allows you to write device-independent programs, be future-device compatible, and work seamlessly with LogWorks. Download here.
If you make or support any ECU-tuning software, dyno, piggy-back FC, chip-tuner, or data logger, and you want real-time wideband input (or multiple AFR, EGT, MAP, etc.), consider utilizing this powerful and simple SDK. 1. Install LogWorks 2.01 (or newer) if not already installed; 2. Unzip SDKSetup.exe; and 3. Run "SDKSetup.exe
". A new program group folder called “MTS SDK” is added to the LogWorks2 program group. It has a link for the documentation, a link for browsing the folder, and a link for running the sample app.
2) ST-12 Making Waves
It seems that the individual cylinder tuning trend is gaining momentum. In the past weeks we've gotten orders from top Nextel Cup and NHRA teams, and, better yet, customers are testing very successfully and setting new records (Kurt and Warren Johnson were using one of the first ST-12's tuning for this.). We've sold out of our first 2 production runs of the ST-12, but will have another batch in January. Call us now if you'd like more information on this powerful tool.
3) Innovate Apparel Special Offer
Get your Innovate gear today (in time for Xmas)! Use coupon code "INNOXMAS" and get 10% off any Official Innovate Logo hats, jackets, hooded sweats, or long-sleeve T's.
4) SEMA & PRI Recap
SEMA & PRI were both very productive this year. Klaus' "Winning with Wideband" seminar at PRI was "standing room only," and he fielded questions for almost 2 hours after he was done with his presentation. There is obviously a lot of interest in the new generation of digital wideband tools, and we predict that 2006 will see continued growth in race and street tuning with wideband.
We appologize if you came by the booth , and we were not able to answer all of your questions, or demonstrate all of the new products. We were simply swamped, and we're dissappointed if we missed the chance to speak with any of you. We've decided that next year we will get a bigger booth, and send more guys.
5) New Tech Note: EFI Live with LC-1
Jason Morris has written a very useful installation tutorial on using the LC-1 with the popular EFI Live tuning software. Check it out here.
6) New Tech Note: Apexi Power FC / Dataloggit with LM-1
Justin Baltrucki has written a concise installation and tuning guide for integrating the LM-1 with the Apexi Power FC & Dataloggit Logger, with special emphasis on 13B rotary applications. Get it here.
7) Free XD-1 for Tech Notes
Both Jason and Justin are getting free XD-1's for their efforts, and you can too. Instructions on using any Innovate product with any major 3rd party datalogger, gauge, ECU, piggy-back, etc. that are written clearly, with basic illustartions and/or pictures (as needed). The first good writeup for each 3rd-party product gets a free XD-1 gauge (or other device of similar value). There's no limit to how many you can do, so if you're a budding technical writer, have at it and get a truckload of free Innovate electronics.
We are specifically seeking notes on Hondata, Crome, Uberdata, S-AFC 2, FAST, and Megasquirt right now. Send a quick email to check your idea, or to submit a writeup.
Until next time... Keep On Tuning!
