This is Innovate Motorsports' "Technology for Tuners" Newsletter, Issue #9. These updates are intended to keep you informed of tuning tips, firmware updates, application notes, new product releases, company news, and other useful information. In this issue:

1) ST-12 is Shipping
2) LogWorks 2.01 is Released
3) Innovate Apparel is Online
4) SEMA & PRI are Here

5) Running with Innovate

6) Tuning Tip: The MTS Log Chain Concept
7) Free XD-1 for Tech Notes

1) ST-12 is Shipping

SuperTune-12 is a complete data acquisition system for advanced engine tuning. The system is anchored by Innovate’s award-winning digital wideband Air/Fuel Ratio technology, but also includes flexible sensors for RPM, MAP, Temperature, Duty Cycle, and analog inputs. The ST-12 can power, manage, and consolidate data from up to 12 LC-1ST wideband oxygen-sensor controller cables. The future is individual cylinder tuning, and the future is now. They don't want us naming names, but top NHRA guys (and NASCAR & F1) are winning with the ST-12. More info here.

2) LogWorks 2.01 is Released

The first maintenance release of LogWorks 2.0 is available here. The 2.01 release fixes a few minor bugs, and improves some features.

3) Innovate Apparel is Online!

Just in time for Christmas, the Innovate Logo gear is finally available. From the basic black visor, to the genuine Dickies shop jacket, check out our apparrel store, and start sporting the winningest brand in Motorsports. (Yes- the long-sleeve T is back.)

4) SEMA & PRI

SEMA was a blast (as always). The ST-12 barely dodged the BNP-curse by winning Runner Up in the "Best New Racing & Performance Product- Engineered" category. We also won a few international Best New Product awards, and numerous magazine awards. Most importantly, we got to meet with key customers, demo the new stuff, and see what everyone else is doing.

We'll be in booth # 4384 at PRI in Orlando Dec. 1-3. Even more than SEMA, this is the performance & racing show. Our very own guru Klaus Allmendinger will be giving a seminar entitled "Winning with Wideband" at 1PM on Thursday, Dec. 1. We hope to see you there.

5) Running with Innovate

The list continues to grow, but a few notables have been added to the list of OEM Innovate fans: Haltech, Ruf, EcuTek, Kleeman, Garrett, Barry Grant, IROC, Vortek, Comp Cams, MSD, and more. Also, congrats to Kurt Johnson (NHRA Pro Stock), Ken Scheepers (NHRA Sport Compact), Titan Motorsports (NHRA Sport Compact & NOPI), Harriston Racing (PSCA Pro Street), Booze Brothers (NMRA Hot Street), Warren Skaggs (NHRA Pro Stock VW Shoot Out), Bisimoto Engineering (NHRA Sport Compact & BOTI), and Andrew Comrie-Picard (SCCA Rally)- all winning big in 2005 with Innovate. And Dave Owen broke his own Speedbike ECTA record.

6) Tuning Tip: The MTS Log Chain Concept

The Innovate Modular Tuning System (MTS) is a big name for a simple concept. The concept is that all of our devices can "speak" a common lanuguage (an open serial protocol), and you can chain multiple devices together to add channels of data. For example, you can chain 8 LC-1 widebands, and an XD-1 gauge together. In this example, you could log 8 channels of air/fuel ratio, directly to your laptop, and display any 1 channels of data on your dash with the XD-1. In the coming months, more and more products will be released which expand the capabilities of the MTS. The MTS maxes out at 32 channels, and samples at 12 samples/second. (But remember that we pre-process ciritcal data, so air/fuel measurements, for example, are taken hundreds of times/second and averaged.)

7) Free XD-1 for Tech Notes

We're looking for simple application notes from our users. Instructions on using any Innovate product with any major 3rd party datalogger, gauge, ECU, piggy-bakc, etc. that are written clearly, with basic illustartions and/or pictures (as needed). The first good writeup for each 3rd-party product gets a free XD-1 gauge (or other device of similar value). There's no limit to how many you can do, so if you're a budding technical writer, have at it and get a truckload of free Innovate electronics. Send a quick email to check your idea, or to submit a writeup.

Until next time... Keep On Tuning!
